World class speed skater shares 3 guiding principles for better business
Kevin Frost is a world class speed skater – he is ranked as the third top speed skater in the world in his age group. That’s quite a feat on its own, but an amazing accomplishment when you consider that Kevin is legally deaf and blind.
He has a condition called Ushers Syndrome that rendered him deaf at age 11 and blind at age 30. But he has not let this get in the way. He has been able to live his dream as a world-class athlete. Not only does he excel in the sports of speed skating, but he is also a top-notch rower.
Today, I had the opportunity to sit down with him at the Orleans Recreational Center. He shared some of his guiding rules on life which can be applied to businesses as well. His golden rules are:
- Keep the Positive Energy: Use that energy to improve and excel.
- Give and share: We help oursleves by helping others.
- Find ways to deal with issues: Life is never smooth, but you got to keep your smile on.
We often look at the slow economy and think things are tough. But we forget to realize how others have taken a challenge and turned it around to their advantage. We can learn a lot from Kevin and apply his techniques to improve our way of life as well as our way of doing business.

When you feel that had a bad day at office, just think how a person like Kevin has converted weaknesses into opportunities and this ones into success.
